The Art of Romanticizing Your Fall Routine
Fall has a way of making you want to get your life together. Suddenly, you want the cute coffee in the morning, the perfectly organized closet, the cozy apartment, the matching pajamas, the candle burning while you answer emails, and honestly, I am here for it. But I think romanticizing your life gets a bad reputation because people make it seem like you need a completely new life to do it.
You don’t.
You don’t need to move into a new apartment, buy an entirely new wardrobe, or wake up at 5 AM every morning to feel like you have your life together. Sometimes it’s just about making the life you already have feel a little more special. This fall, I’m leaning into the little things: getting dressed even when I’m working from home, making my morning coffee before I open my phone, making my space feel cozy, and actually giving myself time to wind down at night. Because if we’re going to be busy building our dream lives, we should actually enjoy the life we’re living along the way.
Your Morning Deserves to Feel Good
Let’s start in the morning! I am not going to tell you that you need to wake up at 5 AM, meditate for 30 minutes, work out, journal, drink green juice, and somehow answer emails by 6:15. Romanticizing your morning can mean giving yourself a few minutes before the chaos starts. Open the curtains. Make your bed. Put on a soft Barefoot Dreams Cozy Chic Robe and your favorite slippers, make coffee, and put it in a cute mug! I swear coffee tastes better in a cute mug.
I love having a little coffee setup that makes me actually want to sit down and enjoy my morning. A Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ (preferably in beige), a Nespresso Aeroccino Milk Frother, and a pretty Le Creuset mug instantly makes the kitchen feel a little more put together. Add your favorite coffee pods, maybe a little breakfast, and suddenly you’re not just rushing through another morning. You are starting your day intentionally. And if you work from home or have a busy schedule, this is even more important. Your morning doesn’t have to be complicated to feel luxurious. A soft robe, warm coffee, a candle burning in the background, and ten quiet minutes can make a huge difference. It’s not about doing more. It’s about enjoying what you’re already doing.

Get Dressed. Even If Nobody Is Watching.
One thing I refuse to give up when fall comes around? Getting dressed. There’s something about putting together a great fall outfit that changes your whole mood. Give me an oversized knit sweater, a good pair of straight-leg denim, a pair of classic ankle boots, a structured every day handbag, and some simple gold hoops, and I’m ready. After months of summer heat, there’s something so satisfying about actually putting layers together again. And no, I’m not saying you need to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe every season. I want you to do the opposite. Go into your closet and start playing.
Sometimes you don’t need new clothes. You just need a new way to style the clothes you already own. My favorite fall outfits are usually the ones that look effortless. The outfit where someone asks, “Where did you get that?” That’s the goal.
Your Home Is Part of the Vibe
Now let’s talk about the home. Because if I’m going to spend more nights inside once the weather gets colder, I want my space to feel good! And I don’t mean covering your house with pumpkins. Start with the little things. Such as a warm Voluspa Baltic Amber candle on the coffee table. A soft neutral throw blanket on the couch. Fresh cream or white bedding set. A cute ceramic vase with whatever flowers you're choosing. Lastly, pair it all with a few textured decorative pillows.
The Baltic Amber scent is exactly the kind of fall fragrance you need. I love warm amber, sandalwood, cedar, and vanilla scents for fall. It’s cozy without smelling like you dumped a pumpkin-spiced candle into every room in the house. I also love warm lighting in the fall. There is a huge difference between turning on every overhead light in the house and having a few warm table lamps or accent lights glowing in the evening. Suddenly, your living room feels like somewhere you actually want to spend the night. And honestly, one of my favorite ways to make my home feel luxurious is just keeping it clean.
Fresh sheets, a clean kitchen, counters cleared off, everything put back where it belongs; walking into a clean, cozy home after a long day feels different. You don’t need to redecorate your home every season completely. Sometimes a new candle, a cozy blanket, and fresh bedding are enough to make the whole space feel different.
Romanticize Getting Ready
I also want to bring back the idea of getting ready for yourself ✨ Not for Instagram. Not for a date. Not because someone is coming over. For you.
Put on the perfume you normally “save.” Use your favorite rich body lotion. Put on a cute matching lounge set while you’re getting ready for the day. Do your hair. Put on the earrings you love. You don’t need somewhere to go to look and feel put together. I think there is something really powerful about treating yourself like you’re worth the effort, even when nobody else is going to see it. Maybe you’re working from home, running errands, or just going to grab a coffee; who cares? Wear the outfit. Put the perfume on. Carry the cute bag. You deserve to feel good in your own life, not just when you’re dressing up for someone else.

Make Your Nights Feel Like a Ritual
Fall evenings are my favorite because they make staying home feel like a plan. The sun goes down earlier; it’s cooler outside, and suddenly, a quiet night feels a little more luxurious. This is where I love having a little nighttime routine. Change into a soft pair of matching pajamas. Put on your cozy slippers. Take a warm shower. Light that Baltic Amber candle. Make some tea in your favorite mug. Put your phone down for a little while. And if you want to make it extra cozy, grab a sleep mask, your favorite body lotion, and a good journal or book; my favorite right now is The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins. Give yourself a few minutes to unwind.
It doesn’t need to be an elaborate 45-step nighttime routine. Maybe you only have fifteen minutes. That’s okay. The point is to create a little separation between doing and resting. You’re not answering emails. You’re not thinking about tomorrow. You’re not scrolling through everyone else’s life. You’re just taking care of yourself. And as someone who loves being productive, I must remind myself of this sometimes: Rest is a necessity, not a luxury. We can’t constantly give to our businesses, our careers, our families, and everyone around us without giving ourselves time to recharge, too. Taking a moment to slow down isn’t being lazy or falling behind. It’s recognizing that you are a person, not a machine. And sometimes, taking care of yourself means permitting yourself to rest.

The Little Things Are the Luxury
I think we’re always waiting for the big moment. The vacation. The promotion. The new apartment. The relationship. The weekend. The milestone. But your life is happening between those things. So why not make those moments feel good too? Buy yourself the flowers. Use the expensive candle. Make the coffee you love. Put on the outfit you were saving. Take yourself to lunch. Make the coffee you love. Put on that outfit you’ve been saving. Take yourself to lunch. Make your apartment cozy just because. Put on music while you’re cooking dinner. Take a long way home. Go for a walk with no destination. Read a few pages before bed. Wear your favorite perfume on a random Tuesday.
Those little things might seem insignificant, but they’re the things that make up your everyday life. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to spend my life waiting for something exciting to happen before I allow myself to enjoy it.
Romanticize the Life You’re Building
At the end of the day, romanticizing your life isn’t about pretending everything is perfect. It’s about appreciating where you are while still working toward where you’re going. You can be ambitious and still slow down. You can build a business and still take a night off. You can want more for yourself without believing that what you have right now isn’t enough.
So, this fall, don’t wait for the perfect moment. Create little moments. Make your morning coffee feel special. Get dressed in something that makes you feel confident. Make your home your favorite place to be. Light the candle. Buy the flowers. Put on the pajamas. Take yourself out. And please, stop saving everything good for “someday.” Because someday isn’t guaranteed. This is your life now, and I think you deserve to make it feel a little more beautiful!
